One Simple Act Partnerships

One Simple Act (OSA) is Alberta Environment’s initiative to inspire environmental stewardship. It inspires, informs and mobilizes individuals, organizations and communities to make smart decisions that reduce waste, conserve water, improve their energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change. Through outreach activities, educational resources and local action projects we are providing easy solutions for use in the home, school, business and industry.

We believe everyone can benefit from simple changes and we are helping Albertans get hooked on being environment friendly.

OSA is pursuing its vision of "Leading Albertans to reduce the environmental impact of our activities" in ways that benefit the environment, the economy and local communities. We know that partnerships with small, medium and large organizations are needed to be successful. Together we can be enablers, multipliers and catalysers of change.

To have a real impact over the next decade we’re working with organizations that are working towards the following objectives:

1. 1. Increasing actions that reduce waste;
2. 2. Increasing actions that conserve water; and
3. 3. Increasing actions that improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

We are interested in partnering with organizations that clearly demonstrate how they are:

1. 1. Incorporating environmental stewardship into their corporate social responsibility plans, business plans or employee engagement strategies.
2. 2. Supporting local environmental stewardship projects related to OSA’s objectives.
3. 3. Working with other organizations to collaborate in their OSA-related efforts.
4. 4. Actively promoting the One Simple Act initiative and conservation actions to customers, employees, vendors, colleagues and clients.

One Simple Act on Campus - The University of Alberta is the first post-secondary institution to be identified as a partner in the One Simple Act program.

The One Simple Act on Campus is run out of the Office of Sustainability. One Simple Act on Campus invites the University of Alberta community to make personal commitments to one of 20 actions related to waste, energy efficiency, sustainability and water. This project has growing suite of resources available to anyone interested in promoting personal or group commitments on campus.
